Almost 3,000 bags of garbage collected during annual Outer Ring Road cleanup

Three tandem dump trucks’ worth of garbage was removed from the Outer Ring Road last weekend as part of the province’s annual cleanup. Crews were collecting debris on Sunday. They found everything from a box spring, a mattress, and even a couch.

Canadian Hurricane Centre predict five possible hurricanes in Atlantic region this year

Newfoundland and Labrador can expect another active storm season this summer and fall.  Forecasters with the Canadian hurricane centre say it will be an above average year for tropical storm activity, with 13 to 19 named storms predicted, and up to five possible hurricanes in the Atlantic region.
