The Bank of Canada will announce the interest rate adjustment today at 11:15 a.m. Newfoundland time. This will be the first update of 2024. The interest rate currently sits at five percent. In December, the inflation rate increased to 3.4 per cent.

Dates set for the preliminary inquiry in Dean Penney murder case

Dates have been set for the preliminary inquiry in the Dean Penney murder case. Penney will be back in court on August 19. Penney was arrested in December and is accused of killing his estranged wife Jennifer Hillier-Penney. The St. Anthony woman was last seen on November 30, 2016. The accused remains in custody.
