Winter driving conditions in parts of the province
Roads are snow-covered on parts of the Burin Peninsula, from Corner Brook to Deer Lake to Wiltondale, and in the St. Anthony area. Elsewhere roads are bare with wet and slushy sections. Truck carrying potentially explosive material catches fire on Baie d’Espoir Highway
The RCMP responded to a tractor-trailer fire on Route 360, Baie d’Espoir Highway, at Pool’s Cove Junction. The truck was carrying potentially explosive contents. For several hours the highway was closed. By about 9:00 p.m. one lane of traffic was open. Traffic was slow moving.
