Inflation rate cools slightly

News

Infaltion is down to 2.7 per cent. In May it was at 2.9 per cent.

Statistics Canada says the deceleration was largely the result of slower year-over-year growth in gasoline prices.

Moderating the deceleration was an increase in prices for food purchased from stores, as well as a smaller decline for cellular services in June compared with May.
