Power outage in Pouch Cove

About 900 customers are without power in parts of Pouch Cove due to severe weather. There are outages in Marine Park, Biscayan Cove, Butlers Road to Sullivans Loop Shoe Cove, and Murrins Road to Marsh Road. There is no estimated restoration time.

Across the Avalon and Burin Peninsula, roads are partly snow-covered. St. John’s cancels waste collection for today

The City of St. John’s has postponed garbage collection for today. Area 5B will not have waste collected today due to forecasted weather conditions. Garbage and recycling collection for Area 5B will take place on Saturday. In Mount Pearl, garbage collection will proceed as normal.

Snow squalls hamper traffic, delay school dismissals in Corner Brook

Snow squalls and high winds battered much of the province on Thursday. On the west coast, it meant areas of the Trans-Canada were reduced to one lane, and students were delayed from going home in the storm. N.L. Schools says school buses were eventually able to run and all students got home.
